The new eco-tourism policy of Rajasthan shall open new doors and give a much-needed boost to the state’s tourism, especially during the current times. Apart from increasing the revenue generated by attracting domestic travellers, this new policy also aims at creating employment opportunities for state residents.
Promoting activities conducive to the environment
The State Minister for Forest & Environment, tweeted, “Due to the cultural, geographical and ecological diversities of Rajasthan, the tourism industry has great importance in the economy of the state. The tourism industry can be increased by promoting eco-tourism along with general tourism and unique employment opportunities can be created for the people of the state.”
He further added saying, “New possibilities have emerged in the last years and with the vast changes in the eco-tourism landscape. The new policy covers all kinds of activities conducive to environmental and ecological conservation including trekking, bird watching, hiking, boating, overnight camping, safaris, and cycling.”
Unlock across Rajasthan
With unlock protocol under effect in most states of India, as the second swell is receding, the Rajasthan government is now welcoming tourists and easing the curfew curbs on weekends. Further, they have also reopened tourism centres, cinema halls, malls and public parks, among other places, but under restricted guidelines.
