The Jaipur City Transport Limited has announced that it will add a total of 600 new eco-friendly buses to help improve public transport facilities in the city. You may be a long time resident of the city, a tourist or even a casual passerby, but if you’ve been in the city ever, you would know that the city needs a better public transport system to allow for easy commutes. Thus making this new development a much needed one!

What’s the update?
In a recent meeting, the JCTL decided to take a step forward and implement these new buses. As per sources, they have placed purchase orders for the 600 buses. Of the 600 buses, 300 are medium sized, 250 buses will run of Diesel and 50 of the buses will be electric buses.
All three kinds of buses are said to be more eco friendly than the regular buses. The electric buses however, are the most clean and energy efficient ones of the lot. These buses have a lot of advantages to them and are on the whole rather convenient for the citizens.
One of the main reasons that JCTSL (Jaipur City Transport Services Limited) is opting for these buses is because the low floor buses were very high maintenance and would often break down, causing discomfort to commuters.
Whom will it benefit?
The buses will help keep the city free of pollution and even crowded roads. Since commuters will now have an option of choosing their mode of transport, it is a step in the right direction for the city and its residents.
Since the buses will connect almost all areas of the city, commuters no longer have to worry about booking expensive cabs or using their own vehicles.
Additionally, the buses have a seating capacity of up to 40 people and, according to sources, the non AC electric buses can run up to 150 kilometers and the AC electric buses can run 120 kilometers on a single charge. As for pricing, each bus is priced at ₹75 lakhs.
