What’s it all about?
The Pushkar Fair is a one of a kind, annual mega mela that enthrals anyone who visits it. Bringing to you a beautiful and enthralling combination of colour, history, heritage and food, this is one fair that people flock to see from all parts of the country.
Essentially, it is a marketplace for something more than you’d imagine- livestock. The mela plays host to some of the rarest camel breeds in the country and rearers flock to pay a visit and see what’s in store. For the average person however, the vibrance and the colour of the mela should do the trick.

What’s special?
Here, you get to see how people in rural parts of the state live, how they go about their daily activities. At the end of the day, the fair is nothing short of an eye opening experience. Some of the very interesting and fun activities to expect here are competitions such as Matka Tod, Longest Moustache, and Bridal Competitions.
Apart from just looking, you can also buy loads of nifty things that you won’t find anywhere else. Master craftsmen set up their stalls here and showcase some of the finest handicraft that the state of Rajasthan has to offer. This is not just a fair for the rich and the powerful, it caters to the needs of all.

Here, at the Pushkar fair, you also get a chance to see live music and dance performances that have been around since the old days. The cultural fair is an expression of the history and the legacy of Rajasthan in the form of art.
