Not just the traditional puppet dolls of Rajasthan, you can find dolls from various parts of the world, representing different timelines and genres! The museum contains dolls from diverse parts of the country like Maharashtra, Assam, Kashmir, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Bengal, Gujarat, and others. Though the conventional puppets from Rajasthan remain to be the highlight, the meticulous detailing of all dolls provides for an incomparable visual delight.
Dolls from different regions of the globe like Malaysia, Germany, America, Britain, Sweden, Afghanistan and others will leave you spellbound in utter admiration of the finest kind of art. Exhibiting dolls that are just 2 inches in height, the museum has added new and refined attractions which include figurines inspired by cartoon characters and superheroes. The humongous arrangement of dolls and figurines is laid out across the museum in five different galleries. Among the ornamented models, the Indian dolls who are displayed wearing a range of apparel from bridal wear, special dance costumes to the native everyday-wear are the most eye-catchy attraction. In addition to this, the dolls engaged in different activities presenting a miniature version of the real world provides a scintillating experience. The museum is also renowned for its wide collection of dolls from Japan.
Distanced by 4 km away from the city center, the museum is located near the Jawaharlal Nehru Marg. A visit to the museum costs ₹ 10 for Indian citizens, ₹ 50 for foreign nationals and ₹ 5 for children below the age of 12. Open for visitors on all days except public holidays, the museum operates from 9 AM to 5 PM.
