They say, when in Rome do as the Romans do; so whenever you’re visiting Kanpur or even if you are a resident, the local favourite spot is for-sure the best place to try a truly delicious bite of biryani.
Baba Biryani in Kanpur is that place. Baba Biryani is a legend, this small joint is one of our favorite places in Kanpur and we won’t hear otherwise.

This joint is the stuff of legends, the biryani they serve here is so good that it’ll make you cry. Not literally, but internally for sure. The delicate flavour of the rice with the melt in the mouth meat is good enough to transport you to the food heaven of your dreams.
The best part about their biryani is the controlled use of floral spices and the perfectly cooked tender meat. Taking a leaf out of Lucknow’s Awadhi and Mughlai cuisine, the Kanpur biryani, is aroma forward. Playing more with flavours and floral spices than with heavy ‘masala’.
The biryani here is better than the ones you’ll find in any 5-star restaurant or expensive cafe. They know the taste and they never shrug an inch in providing the patrons with a full spectrum of flavours.
