The current proposals suggest that a super-speciality hospital will be set up in addition to a research wing for medical studies.

IIT-K has worked out a list of measures to accelerate the execution of this latest project. Reportedly, an amount of ₹ 20 crores has been allocated for making the new establishments advanced and hi-tech. This sum of money has been contributed by the institute’s alumni from the batch of 1996, as an expression of gratitude towards their alma mater.
The engineering institute had organised an online reunion program for the students of the batch of 1996. The event witnessed participation by over 100 individuals from different countries all around the globe, who collected together to relive their college memories. During the event, the director of IIT-K took the attendees through a tour of the accomplishments garnered by the institute during the COVID pandemic.

While the alumni seemed overjoyed, they wished if they could be present at their old educational campus physically. The secretary of the alumni association was elated to inform that the old students never fail to make noteworthy contributions to their alma mater’s progress. Under the leadership of Rahul Mehrotra, the old students of IIT-K decided to contribute to the establishment of medical research and technology centre amongst other things.
