The growing popularity of OTT and other web-based platforms has led to a surge in demand for films and series format shows. As a result, several destinations in Uttar Pradesh are gaining recognition for their favourable conditions for film production.
This upward trend in the state’s film industry has prompted Kanpur’s Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj (CSJM) University to introduce a comprehensive full-time course in film making through its Media and Mass Communication department.
Till now, students interested in pursuing a career in filmmaking had to travel to prominent institutes located in Delhi and Mumbai to gain an education in the field. However, Kanpur University is now set to introduce a dedicated Film Production Course, enabling students and aspiring filmmakers to learn the intricacies of the craft.
