In an attempt to offer students an opportunity to pursue further studies abroad, and provide them with appropriate language skills for recruitment in multinational organizations, the School of Language at CSJM University will start a one-year foreign language certificate courses in French, German and English.
At first, only French and German will be inculcated for the certificate course, however, more foreign and other domestic languages will be added later.
Foreign language learning with Interactive sessions
The proposed certificate course will follow a two level format- Beginner and Intermediate. The overall course will provide an introduction to grammar, speaking, and writing skills in these three languages. Notably, the interactive classroom sessions will ensure practical and interactive learning.
Reportedly, Language Lab, videos and audio will also be used with an aim to offer proper pronunciation and accent skills. Additionally, the Language Lab will also help students with self-speech enhancement and soft skill development.
Ear training aiming at confidence-building among students for interactions and presentations in a foreign language will allow students to learn to talk and discuss at the same time.
Reportedly, these interventions can be recorded and different exercises can be assigned to different groups. This will directly benefit students to get a proper command of the pronunciation of foreign language words, accurate use of grammar and fluency in speaking.
How will it benefit the students?
Apart from getting an additional advantage on their resumes, the course is aimed at offering insights into the language they desire to learn. With correct training and advanced smart class at the CSJM University, the students will be able to ace proper pronunciation and accent of the language, will be able to greet and introduce themselves and others, make appointments and arrange meetings and write, revise and proofread short texts.
As per the reports, the School of Language at the CSJM University is also offering, a 50% relaxation in the admission fee to the University teachers and employees for enrolment. The move is aimed at encouraging students to opt for such sophisticated programmes.
