The summer waves seem to be reaching Kanpur early this year. With possibilities of temperature touching 40°C in the second week of March itself, this time weather will be will be harsh on Kanpur as compared to last year.
As per Meteorological Department, till March 31, last year, the maximum temperature in Kanpur was 40°C and the average maximum temperature in the month of March for last 122 years was 30.7°C. However, this March the average temperature will be 4°C.
Hottest 2023 in Kanpur yet
Effects of climate change were visible in Kanpur from January this year itself. Usually in February, the normal temperature remains upto 26°C, however, it went upto 32°C in 2023.
According to the Meteorological Department of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, in the first week of March, due to active Western Disturbance, Kanpur will be enveloped by light clouds and shows possibility of drizzle at some places. Due to this, the temperature is expected to decrease by two degrees.
