Yet, the city can be a little steep for students who’re always on a budget crunch and looking for a chill place to relax or simply ‘hangout’. Which is why, we have created a list of our favourite hangout spots across the city where you can not only have the time of your life but also save a quick buck.
Because not every place requires you to sell off a part of your liver, budget places can be fun too!
1. Nukkad Cafe

Situated in the heart of Kapoorthala, Nukkad Cafe is a popular student hangout. Ask any coaching going student where they hang after a grilling session of studies and they’ll tell you Nukkad Cafe is the place to be. The tea here is good enough to put a smile on your face and so is the maggi and sandwich.

2. Bun Makkhan Chai

Bun Makkhan Chai is one of the most loved tea outlet and cafe in the town. We love the ginger cardamom tea, bun butter and the maggi here. The Mumbaiya sandwich is another one of crowd favourites and we can never have enough. Plus, the seating arrangement is always cutesy and cool here.

3. Yumla

Another great spot for the broke and hungry, Yumla will deliver on all fronts. From taste, to ambiance, you won’t find one thing that you don’t like here. We especially appreciate the wraps and the shakes here, though not the best in the world, they’re pretty great for the given price point and would definitely satiate your palate.

4. Chopstix

Formerly known as Red Dragon, Chopstix in Hazratganj is a legend. If you’re a fan of spicy Chinese food and like spending your money only on food and not the fluff that comes with location, ambiance and else, this is the place for you. The momos, soup, honey chilli potato and noodles are all pretty great here.

5. Sheroes Hangout

Operated by Acid Attack survivors, Sheroes Hangout drives home a positive message of resilience and determination to overcome the worst. Sheroes is located opposite Ambedkar Park and is the ideal location to stop at after a drive through the posh locales of the city.
