Ajay Devgn landed in Lucknow earlier this month along with his son, armed with a battalion of bodyguards for the shoot of Maidaan, directed by Boney Kapoor! Here are all the details regarding the movie and shoot, for Devgn fans in the city.

To kick-start the shoot for the third lap of Maidaan, an upcoming sports drama film, the cast and crew are here in Lucknow presently, which will be followed by a trip to Kolkata.
The film’s shooting started at Sitapur and then it was taken up in the City of Nawabs and this is Devgn’s second project, after Raid.
Maidaan is based on Syed Abdul Rahim, who coached the Indian football team and trained them to reach the semi-finals of the Melbourne Olympics (1956) and won gold in the Jakarta Asian Game (1963). He is said to be the founder of 4-2-4-1 (player) formation and given his achievements, Abdul sir is also known as ‘the father of Indian football’.

The sports-drama features Keerthy Suresh, opposite Devgn, who has also recently won the National Award for Best Actress for her role in the Telugu film, Mahanati. Maidaan also marks the Hindi film debut of Keerthy and we’re actually curious to see this actress, unfold her refined acting abilities on-screen!
Produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta, Maidaan is directed by Amit Sharma. The screenplay and dialogues have been penned by Saiwyn Quadros and Ritesh Shah, respectively and the cast also includes, Boman Irani and Gajraj Rao.
The movie is slated to be released on the 27th of November, 2020.
