Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow, has launched the AKTU Virtual Internship 2025 program, providing students with an exciting opportunity to gain industry experience through online internships.
In collaboration with MoU partner organisations such as IBM, Infosys, SmartBridge, and NIELIT, the program offers practical exposure in fields like AI, data analytics, IoT, and cybersecurity.
Now count for academic credit, aligning with NEP 2020
These internships will be considered equivalent to the mandatory Mini-Project or Internship component in the AKTU syllabus for specific semesters. To earn 2 academic credits, students must complete a minimum of 60 hours of work, which can be done during the preceding academic year without disrupting regular classes.
According to Prof. Anurag Tripathi, Dean UGSE, this initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, focusing on skill-based learning. Students who undertake these virtual internships will be formally recognised by their colleges and awarded academic credits, he stated. This program not only enhances practical skills but also significantly strengthens a student’s resume for future career opportunities.
This program, open to students from session 2025–26 onwards, supports AKTU’s goal of bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements, setting students up for career success in a rapidly evolving job market.
