Attempting to ease the accessibility of health and medical facilities for the residents of Uttar Pradesh, the government has issued instructions to connect all the community health centres (CHCs) and primary health centres (PHCs) in urban and rural areas, with the main roads. Moreover, to provide relief to the patients, all the CHC and PHC-connected roads in the state are presently being fortified.
There are 3,011 PHCs and 855 CHCs in UP while the number of urban PHCs is 592. On the other hand, there are 9 CHCs, 28 PHCs, 52 health post centres and 8 urban PHCs in the state capital Lucknow, currently.
Reconstruction of dilapidated roads being carried out at an expedited pace
Owing to the issuance of related instructions by UP’s Chief Minister, the drive to make the roads leading to the CHCs and PHCs in all districts, pothole-free, is underway in full swing. Additonally, the reconstruction of dilapidated roads is being carried out at an expedited pace, to aid the patients in reaching the facilities at a quicker and smoother pace.
The Urban Development Department, Municipal Corporations, Public Works Departments (PWD), gram panchayats along with other urban and rural bodies, have been tasked to effectuate and accomplish this work.
Other expressway projects fast-tracked
Simultaneously, with the onset of the monsoons, adequate arrangements are being looked into, for the treatment of patients in the infirmaries. The government envisions that once the CHCs and PHCs are connected to the main roads, it will enable ambulances to carry patients for treatment, without any roadway hassles and at a speedy rate. It will be aid the critical patients to procure urgent treatment as well.
Other ventures, such as the Purvanchal Expressway Project, Gorakhpur Link Expressway Project, Bundelkhand Expressway Project and Ganga Expressway Project, have also been fast-tracked. the government has also launched a state-wide campaign to make the roads pothole-free.
