With a diminished transmission rate, the rampant spread of COVID infection has been chained in Uttar Pradesh. As many as 32 districts here reported zero cases on Sunday, as per the state health department records. On an aggregate, about 113 new infections were reported across all districts here, pushing the total state tally to 6,01,385 cases. Meanwhile, with one fatality from Bahraich, UP recorded its lowest single-day death toll since January 2021. At present, the morbidity count stands at 8,687 deaths in the state.
Uttar Pradesh beats the Corona blues
With active cases falling 558 cases below the zero-line equator in Uttar Pradesh, the state has found its way out of the virus’ clutches with a boosted recuperative count. Across UP, about 670 COVID patients were discharged from hospitals; which is 6 times more than the number of new tallies reported in the past 24 hours.
While state capital Lucknow managed to limit fresh cases to 18, recovery count was pushed to 406 patients. These statistics have helped lower the active caseload here, to 700 cases only. “Lucknow has reported 81,549 cases till now, out of which 79,667 have recovered with a recovery rate of 97.69 per cent. In all, 1,182 deaths have been reported here,” said Secretary-General, Association of International Doctors.
COVID-19 status in prominent UP districts:
Kanpur, which is only second to Lucknow in terms of COVID impact in the state, reported 5 new cases on Sunday. Next in line stands Prayagraj, with third-highest tallies in Uttar Pradesh. The count here was pushed to 29,160 yesterday with 8 new infections. About 9 cases were found in Ghaziabad and Varanasi, while 2 each were reported in Gautam Buddha Nagar and Meerut.
Presently, Kasganj has zero active Covid cases, where only 6 death have been reported out the 1,957 identified COVID cases, since the pandemic. The districts of Hamirpur, Mahoba, Shravasti, Hathras, Kaushambi and Baghpat have only 2 active cases as of now, according to the data from the health department.
