Now that Lucknow is going to be ‘unlocked’, following an over 50 day lockdown, these norms of keeping yourself and others safe from the virus are more important than ever.
In that light, markets and other crowded areas in Lucknow will get control rooms that will monitor the status of the people. This includes checking whether people are wearing masks or not, keeping a tab on crowd control and enforcing social distancing. The aforementioned control rooms will be monitored by policemen and local traders’ association members while taking the precautions themselves. The ultimate goal is to keep things moving, and bring them back to normal while keeping the threat of the virus at a minimum.
As of now, the control rooms will be set up in as many places as possible. Soon, after gauging the response, the authorities will take into account whether CCTV cameras and public address systems need to be installed as well. While these precautionary measures will go a long way in curbing the spread of the virus, the best thing to do is to stay at home.
