The winds in Awadh are getting colder with each passing day and with winters en route, we can barely contain our excitement anymore! The last lap of 2019 is here and ending this season with a bang is surely the right way to go about it.

Lucknow has been a host to one of India’s biggest performing arts fests and this December, Repertwahr Festival is coming back once again. With its 10th season coupled with a kick-ass line-up, Repertwahr is promising us a good time and we can vouch for it.

Theatre, Music & Comedy!

Repertwahr Festival Season 10 is taking place this December, from the 12th-16th of December at SNA, Gomti Nagar and trust us, you’d want the tickets to this one. Their power-packed line-up of the 10th season is roping us in and if you haven’t already checked it out; here’s what’s happening!

For the theatre lovers, Repertwahr is bringing shows like Mosambi Narangi with Rajit Kapur as a lead, Bone of Contention written directed by Faezah Jalali and Aurat Aurat Aurat directed by Naseeruddin Shah.

Written & directed by Nimmy Raphel, Repertwahr Festival’s theatre line-up will also host Bali– an act which is an excerpt from the Indian epic, Ramayana.

Since Repertwahr was founded, inspired by Habib Tanvir, they’re also hosting shows of Agra Bazaar, originally written and directed by him.

[rebelmouse-image 22614111 original_size=”2158×1182″ expand=1][rebelmouse-image 22614112 original_size=”2158×1182″ expand=1][rebelmouse-image 22614115 original_size=”2158×1182″ expand=1][rebelmouse-image 22614120 original_size=”2158×1182″ expand=1][rebelmouse-image 22614123 original_size=”2158×1182″ expand=1]

The line-up for the music segment of the festival has also won our hearts!

They’re bringing in The Local Train (yasssss, they’re coming to Lucknow FINALLY!) and the Indian Ocean too. It’s like college life nostalgia and memories of the early 2000s, all hitting us at the same time!

To fan the fervor of Urdu connoisseurs in the city, Repertwahr has also invited Parvaaz– a band from Bangalore who’ve made it big in the music industry. They mostly sing in Urdu and Hindi and together, they deliver a mix of progressive, psychedelic and mellow rock.

[rebelmouse-image 22614124 original_size=”2158×1182″ expand=1][rebelmouse-image 22614127 original_size=”2158×1182″ expand=1][rebelmouse-image 22614129 original_size=”2158×1182″ expand=1]

To throw you into hysterical fits of laughter, Repertwahr Festival has invited comedian and an absolute riot, Aditi Mittal to grace the stage and we’ve already made plans for this one.

There’ll also be a show of Aisi Taisi Democracy, which will make you rethink the “Idea of India” and you can expect it to be politically incorrect fuelled with clever humour.

Along with these events, when here, you will have tons of grub options to keep you energised. Also, you can get your tickets at the counters, even on the days of the festival.

But if you don’t wanna risk missing out on the best seats yet can’t make payments online, you can simply go over to Cafe Repertwahr to grab your tix. You can even avail discounts on your purchase here and we see no good reason for you to delay!

Lucknow Bula Raha Hai!

You’ll find their decor soaked in colours and the mesh of fairy lights amidst the backdrop Lakhnavi winters, just makes us wanna stay a bit longer, every time. Think aesthetic Insta pictures, hefty strands of culture and memories to be treasured for a lifetime.

Repertwahr Festival has been keeping us hooked since its initial years and every winter, you’ll find us vehemently Googling the dates of the next season!

So if you’re in the city or at least close to it, drop by at Sangeet Natak Academy, Gomti Nagar, to witness this top-of-the-line confluence of art and prominent artistes, this winter.
