Kiran Rao’s ‘Laapata Ladies’ has been picked by the Film Federation of India as the country’s official entry for Oscars 2025. Made at a budget of around ₹5 crore, the movie went on to earn ₹24.1 crore in India and ₹25.26 crore worldwide.
Notably, the movie was picked from among 29 films, including some blockbusters like Ranbir Kapoor-starrer ‘Animal’. The movie will be India’s official entry in the ‘Foreign Film’ category for the 97th Oscars, which will be held on March 2, 2025.
