In a bid to motivate people for vaccination, Lucknow Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee has started a langar seva in addition to the facility of the inoculation drives. Under this initiative, beneficiaries are being provided with free food along with vaccination at the Naka Hindola Gurudwara. Reportedly, immunisation drives are being conducted for citizens in the 18-44 age category from Monday to Saturday at this Gurudwara and nearly 300 to 400 individuals take part in the langar every day.
Over 15,000 people inoculated within a month at this centre
As per reports, an official informed that the inoculation program at this facility commenced on 13 June. While the inoculation program is conducted throughout the day, the langar is organised during the afternoon, every day.
Reportedly, 300 individuals were inoculated on the first day and the number of beneficiaries has amplified to 1,000, since the beginning of July. In total, over 15 thousand people have been given the immunity booster jabs at this facility within a month and 800 daily vaccinations are being held now.
Notably, this program is being supervised by the medical officer of the District Health Centre, Aishbagh. An official from the gurudwara, informed that the langar services have been functional at this centre since 1898. Now, this benefit is acting as a tool to attract citizens to the vaccination drives.
RT-PCR tests & vaccination being held at Sadar Gurudwara
Reportedly, RT-PCR tests are being conducted at the Sadar Gurudwara since May 1. As per reports, the Gurudwara Chief informed that nearly 5,000 individuals have been tested at this centre. Additionally, vaccination drives were started here on June 25 and over 6,000 people have been inoculated so far. At this facility, the gurudwara officials are providing juice and tea to the beneficiaries besides the usual practice of langar.
