In an attempt to tighten its reign on the controlled COVID situation, Lucknow Municipal Corporation has undertaken various sanitisation drives across the city. In view of the spike in Omicron cases across the country, the civic body has launched a disinfection drive at various prominent places. Notably, in the last 24 hours, 12 new cases of Omicron infections have been recorded in India.

Amid the rise of Omicron cases in India, the Uttar Pradesh government has amped up its vigil against the spread of this new variant in the state. While Omicron cases in India have reached a total of 73 infections so far, this variant of concern has not yet entered Uttar Pradesh. To ensure safety from this new variant, the administration is undertaking various precautionary measures to ensure the COVID situation doesn’t escalate again. The civic body of Lucknow sprayed disinfectant and anti-larval spray at various places in the city including Gomtinagar, Lalbagh, Chowk, Aishbagh and Nishatganj, among others.
While frequent sanitisation drives like these and caution to hygiene are the need of the hour, one’s safety truly lies in their own hands. To ensure safety from this virus, it is important that the general public cooperates with the administration and follows the basic COVID-mandated protocols. Besides, to prevent the threat of an infection resurgence, all eligible beneficiaries who haven’t taken the jab yet, are encouraged to get their vaccination as soon as possible.
