The much-awaited Repertwahr Festival has commenced in the City of Nawabs and the 1st day of the 5-day fest was nothing less than perfect! This year, their theme is ‘reduce, reuse and recycle’ which is clearly grabbing eyeballs and has garnered tons of attention and awareness.
Repertwahr is truly a cultural confluence unlike any other in India and it hosts the ultimate celebration in Lucknow, which has kept us on the edge with excitement! After day 1 of their 10th season, we can totally vouch for that yet again. So we’ve listed down the itinerary for the 2nd day and it looks like something you’d not to want to miss!

Day 2 will commence with a Meet The Cast session, which will start at 12 noon sharp at Sangeet Natak Academy, Gomti Nagar! It will be conducted by the cast and crew of the acts here and entry is free for all, for this interactive session.
MTC allows the art patrons to discuss the creative churnings of the acts happening during the whole day and you too could come over to join in the banter.
This will be followed by Aurat Aurat Aurat- a theatre act directed by Naseeruddin Shah and the cast includes thespians like Bhavna Pani, Seema Pahwa, Jaya Virlley, Prerna Chawla, Shruti Vyas, among others. The show is scheduled at 3 PM and 7:30 PM– so drop in at your convenience!
Aurat Aurat Aurat reflects on Ismat Apa’s abiding concern for the state of womanhood, her impatience with empty rituals and her anger at the condescension women are subjected to. This play has an all-female cast and they’ll be enacting a selection from Ismat Chughtai’s autobiography and 3 other writings.

If you’ve been wanting to laugh your tashreef off to let out some stress, Repertwahr has you covered! Get your tickets for Aisi Taisi Democracy, starting at 5:30 PM and we assure you that it’ll be a hysterical laughter-riot!
It is the coming together of three prolific talents- Stand-up comedian and social-satirist Sanjay Rajoura, stand-up comedian, writer and lyricist Varun Grover and the bass player and vocalist of the legendary band, ‘Indian Ocean’, Rahul Ram.
Expect pointed barbs at all that is weird, funny and surreal in our country- Politically incorrect and full of personal stories of growing up in the pre-and-post liberalization era. Aisi Taisi Democracy promises to make you laugh non-stop while raising some provoking questions!

Repertwahr Festival has kept us looped in since its initial years and every winter, you’ll find us Googling the dates of the next season! The roaring crowds and a festive fervour amidst the backdrop of Lucknow winters, just makes us wanna stay a bit longer.
