1. For the women, by the women

For the first time in the world, women pilots will be operating the metro trains in Lucknow. The first two sets of the metro trains will be driven by female pilots. They have already been conducting trial runs for months now and finally their dream of running a commercial metro train will come true on 5th September.
2. Minimum fare for Lucknow metro is Rs 10 while maximum is Rs 60

Discontinuing the fare practices of metros in other cities, Lucknow metro will be charging you on the number of stations traveled and not the distance.
The base fare will be applied to one metro station and will keep increasing in accordance with the number of stations traveled.
3. Safety is a priority

Balastless track system
After surveying the metro services around the world, the rail operator here included Balastless track system and regenerative braking system. The former will help in reducing the noise created by wheels and the latter will ensure efficient braking.
The state-run operator also roped in the man behind Metro projects in the country, E Shreedharan as its principal adviser.
4. Fastest developed metro

The Lucknow metro has been constructed at an incredibly fast pace and has been functional only in a period of 3 years. All the more, why you should feel proud about it!
5. LED Lighting

Not all trains in country’s biggest metro network, Delhi metro, use LED lights. The French company, Alstom, has used stainless steel and LED lights in each coach.
These lights will not only provide comfort for people but it will also help in lowering the electricity consumption and maintenance bill of Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation.
6. Seating capacity

The four coach metro train will have a seating capacity of 1100 people. It will have a dedicated section for women and differently-abled people too.
The metro coaches have been designed by the Alstom group in Chennai in a manner that around 185 people can sit in one longitudinal direction.
7. Travel from Munsipulia to airport from 2019

While a part of the metro is ready for use, the project will finally be completed and ready by April 2019.
8. Security in the trains

The security of travelers is a big concern for metro rail operators. Each coach of Lucknow metro will have CCTV cameras, which will be linked to a centralized camera monitoring room in the city. It will help in combating crimes like eve-teasing, theft, murder etc.
9. Ticket for children will be determined by their height

According to LMRC rules, children below 90cm (2.9 feet) only, can travel for free in Lucknow metro and those exceeding the height limit will need a ticket.
10. Availability of metros

A metro train will be at your station at every sixth minute and you can plan your ride accordingly. There will be a set of four trains that will be running on the priority stretch from September 5th.
