Embrace yourselves, because from September 5 you will be able to take a ride in the Lucknow Metro that will be running from Charbagh to Transport Nagar. Ahead of the launch, the fare list for your rides between the 23 km North South corridor has also been announced by the Lucknow Metro Railway Corporation.
The metro will be opened for public, from 6th September.
The N-S corridor stretches from Chaudhary Charan Singh (Amausi) airport to Munshipulia, for which the minimum fare is Rs 10 and maximum is Rs 60.

The fare of the Lucknow Metro has been finalized by keeping in mind the fare of other metro projects in the country and also the competition from other transport options in Lucknow.
Unlike other Metros, where the fare is based on the total distance traveled, in Lucknow, the fare will be based on the total number of stations traveled.

While in other cities where the base price is for initial 2kms and it keeps increasing based on the distance traveled, in Lucknow, the base price would be valid till one metro station and will keep increasing later depending on the total number of stations covered.
The entire N-S corridor comprises of 21 stations and will be functional by April 2019. The 8.5 km priority stretch from Charbagh to Transport Nagar will be inaugurated for commercial use on 5th September.
LMRC has significantly defied the general practices in transport services, where your child’s age determines whether he/she will need a ticket or not, and has made height, the criteria for traveling in a metro. According to rules, children below 90cm (2.9 feet), can travel for free in Lucknow metro and those exceeding the height limit will need a ticket. This rule is being followed to avoid confusion and save time, for which, measuring scales will be present at the ticket counter itself.
DISCOUNTS ON SMART CARDS

Local commuters and tourists can buy smart cards called GO-smart from any metro station, and avail discount of 10%. The card comes at a price of Rs.200, in which Rs.100 is the fare top-up and Rs.100 is the security amount, which is refundable.
LMRC will also be issuing a full day `Tourist Card’ for Rs.200 and Rs.350 for three-day travel to commuters, in which Rs.100 is security amount and rest can be used for traveling.
