Amid the increasing fears of the expectant rise of a ‘third wave’ of coronavirus, a new set of guidelines have been issued for air travellers reaching Lucknow. As per reports, commuters arriving from the north-eastern states, Maharashtra and Kerala have to produce a negative COVID-19 report, no older than 96 hours of travel. Individuals who have been administered both the doses of COVID vaccine are exempted from this norm. However, all passengers will be subjected to thermal screening on arrival.
Passengers need to register on the State website before leaving Lucknow Airport
In a set of district-wise guidelines as indexed by the IndiGo airlines, it is compulsory for all passengers arriving from Sikkim, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Kerala, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura & Maharashtra to certify a negative COVID status before entering the state capital. These commuters have to show RT-PCR test results no older than 96 hours from any ICMR approved lab, to support their claim. This test validity starts from the time of swab collection.
Passengers can also show their full vaccination certificate (both doses) to circumvent the aforementioned norm. In addition to this, travellers also have to register on the state website at https://reg.upcovid.in before they leave the arrival foyer of the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport. They can also dial 1800-180-5145 for the registration. Travel obligations further ordain that all commuters must download the Aarogya Setu App. A green status on this will permit travel.
While there is no quarantine imperative in Lucknow, symptomatic travellers arriving from Maharashtra and Kerala will be put under a 14-day quarantine. Passengers who are exiting Uttar Pradesh within 7 days of arrival will be exempted from this rule. For this, the passengers have to validate their return or onward travel.
