One of our favourite seasons of the year, monsoons have officially arrived in the state and today, Lucknow offered us a lash of rain as a respite from the intense summer heat. The cloudy skies for the past 2-3 days had been giving us hope and now we’re finally under the much-awaited monsoon spell.
What’s the News?
On Tuesday, various parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh received rainfall ranging from average to heavy while light to moderate rains and thunderstorms lashed at a few places in the western parts. With humidity levels at 84% as of now, the maximum to minimum temperature of Lucknow will range from 31°C to 26°C alongside erratic spells of rain this week.
The coming days are also predicted to be moderately rainy with isolated thunderstorms at times so you better keep your umbrella handy! Keeping the present weather patterns in view, the Meteorological Department also stated, “Monsoon has been vigorous over east UP and normal in western districts of the state”. They have even stated that some places around western UP are said to witness thunderstorm and lightning with winds up to 30-40 km/h this week.

Although monsoons this year isn’t going to be the same due to lockdown and other restrictions at place, we can still enjoy this season at home, as we should right now! So go brew your kadak chai and get the pakodis frying because this baarish ka mausam is here to stay for a few months. The commencement of monsoons has truly left us in a sunny state of mind!
