The traffic movement on a 1 km long stretch between the Polytechnic crossing and Munshi Puliya in Lucknow has remained affected for the past few days due to the ongoing construction of the new flyover bridge between both points.
Regarding the same, the UP PWD is now conducting a pile load test, to check load bearing capacity of the land for raising the flyover. Due to this, traffic movement on the Munshipuliya-Polytechnic main road will completely remain halted.
What are the alternative routes?
Reportedly, the construction work of the four-lane flyover started back in November from Indian Oil Petrol Pump near the Munshipulia intersection for which the pile load test is being conducted.
Referring to the same DCP Traffic Rais Akhtar said, “The main road has been closed to ensure safety for the public and the traffic operations will continue after the completion of the testing procedure”. Furthermore, service lanes on either side of the road are completely functional.

Vehicles coming from the Polytechnic intersection will go towards Munshipulia through the service road via the Kaleva crossing.

Similarly, vehicles heading from Munshipulia to the Polytechnic intersection can straightaway go through the service road which starts near the Hanuman Mandir on the Munshi Puliya crossing.
