Ahead of Rakshabandhan, the District Magistrate has permitted the rakhi markets and sweet shops in Lucknow to remain open on Sunday. However, all shops and stores in the containment zones will remain closed.
Rakshabandhan Special Markets
As per the new rule to curb the growing number of Coronavirus cases in UP, all markets and shops that are not related to the essential items business, are put under a lockdown every weekend. However, since Raksha Bandhan has fallen on a Monday this time, an exception has been made for the Rakhi markets in the city, allowing them to remain open till 9 pm tomorrow, i.e. Sunday.

All shops and centres will remain closed if they fall under containment zones. As precautionary measures, the administration has made face masks and sanitisers, compulsory prerequisites for shoppers and shopkeepers alike. Social distancing, safety norms and other such protocols established by the administration need to be followed properly to ensure maximum protection against coronavirus.
