Bringing a new-age educational approach to the city, UPSIFS Lucknow is a recently established government institute (2023) dedicated to advancing careers in forensic science, law, and cyber domains. Spread across 50 acres in the state capital, the Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science (UPSIFS) stands as a visionary initiative by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
Affiliated with NFSU, Gandhinagar and approved by AICTE and the Bar Council of India, the institute introduces cutting-edge, interdisciplinary courses that merge legal education with practical, lab-based forensic training. Its hallmark “Law with Labs” model ensures students graduate with hands-on skills relevant to today’s complex justice and security systems.

Under the visionary leadership of Dr. G.K. Goswami—IPS Officer, Additional Director General of UP Police, and Founding Director of UPSIFS, the institute is set to become an important one in the state.
The governing team further includes eminent personalities, Shri Rajiv Malhotra, IPS DIG, serving as the Additional Director of the institute, along with Inspector Shri Santosh Tiwari, who oversees Public Relations at UPSIFS.
Before UPSIFS, the state capital, along with the nearby disctricts, lacked any dedicated institution specialising in these crucial fields. In today’s evolving cyber era, such advanced education is essential to shape the next generation of lawmakers, tech professionals, and responsible citizens.
