In a bid to boost the educational skills of primary school pupils in the state, the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Department has decided to provide graded reading books to more than 1.5 crore students enrolled in the state-run institutions. This will inculcate the habit of reading among young students, which in turn, will enhance their overall knowledge, adding value to their reading and learning capabilities.
State to focus on the education of primary students
As per statements, the Basic Education Department of the state is providing primary school students with reading books, while ensuring they are inscribed with simple language, so that all the children can understand and learn easily. Official sources have also informed that this department has recently conducted a Supportive Aptitude Test (SAT) to enhance education skills in the pupils. In this test, students were given grades ranging from A to E.
Apart from this, the report card of students enrolled in primary and upper primary schools in Uttar Pradesh will be shared with their parents/guardian, in a formal meeting, by the school teaching staff. Officials have informed that separate remedial classes will be run in the schools itself, for those students who scored D and E grades.
These grading techniques will be assisted by a real-time monitoring system, introduced by the Department of Basic Education to identify the average students. Separate classes will be conducted for these pupils, so that they can also compete for top ranks with others. According to officials, this system has been devised to check the progress of students in the primary department, across all schools in Uttar Pradesh.
