It seems as if Bollywood Masala can’t get enough of the Lakhnavi Zaika as Nitish Tiwari’s team begins filming for Sajid Nadiadwala’s Bawaal in the city. Starring Varun Dhawan and Jahnvi Kapoor in the lead roles, this romantic comedy is rolling in Lucknow for its first 26-day schedule since Sunday. As sources have it, the production is set to move to Kanpur by Tuesday for an 8-9 day shoot there. The team will return to the City of Nawabs to wrap up the schedule.
Lights, Camera, Lucknow!
Bawaal makers, Nitish Tiwari and Ashwiny Iyer officially announced the film on the floor on Sunday. Here, Iyer also took to her social media to share a snapshot of the clapboard saying “#Bawaal Happiness begins. Missing Sajid Sir effervescent smile & @wardakhannadiadwala hug as the shoot begins with awesome humans and actors @varundvn & @janhvikapoor”. Reportedly, actor Manoj Pahwa and filmmaker Ajay Rai are also in Lucknow for the shoot.
While Jahnvi Kapoor has already shot in Lucknow for ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’, it is Varun Dhawan’s first time in Lucknow for the Bawaal shoot. Besides, the film also marks another first by pairing this dynamic duo. And it is not just us who are excited to witness this one-of-a-kind outing!
Dhawan too shared the official movie poster on his Instagram and wrote, “Ab hoga #BAWAAL! So excited and grateful to announce my next with the amazing duo, #SajidNadiadwala & @niteshtiwari22 along with @janhvikapoor Can’t wait to see you in theatres on 7th April 2023 #goodfriday.”
Bawaal is a timeless love story that progresses as the leads travel to multiple countries. The filming as such will be held in various locations across India and abroad informed reports. On the domestic front, the movie will be shot in 3 cities including Lucknow and Kanpur. The international schedule and the major portion of the film will be shot in five European countries.
