Mumbai residents faced scorching, humid conditions Tuesday as the city remained dry with no rainfall. The Meteorological Department recorded temperatures peaking at 32.2°C in Colaba and 34.4°C in Santacruz, both above seasonal norms, with humidity hovering between 69-78%.
Despite the high humidity, no rainfall provided relief. The break in showers is also impacting the city’s air quality. Mumbai’s AQI climbed into the ‘moderate’ category, rising from 135 to 143. Experts warn that with the winter season approaching and slowing wind patterns, the city’s air quality is expected to dip further, marking a shift from the cleaner air experienced during the recent rains.
