Easy availability of sanitary napkins is a major requirement, with more and more women going to work on a daily basis. Taking note of the same, Mumbai Metro authorities have installed sanitary pad vending machines at 5 stations of metro lines 2A and 7.
The stations equipped with a pad vending machine include: Akurli Station, Gundavli, Dahisar, Kandivali, and Andheri. The project has been undertaken by Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) in partnership with the Inner Wheel Club of Borivali and Hansraj Damodar Charitable Trust.
As per an official tweet, other Mumbai metro stations too will have access to these machines soon, to make travelling hassle-free for women.
