In alignment with the state’s 100-day action plan, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has initiated ‘Janta Darbar’ sessions, held at its Bandra headquarters. These sessions are designed to provide a direct platform for citizens to voice their concerns and seek timely solutions.
Several grievances addressed on the spot
On April 4 (Friday), MHADA Vice President and CEO Sanjeev Jaiswal, IAS, reviewed 17 cases, including five formal applications, and issued prompt directives for their resolution. Departing from traditional chamber hearings, Jaiswal traversed various departments within MHADA’s Grihnirman Bhavan, engaging directly with citizens in high-traffic areas to enhance the grievance redressal process.
These sessions yielded tangible outcomes, with several grievances addressed on the spot. Cases requiring further deliberation were escalated with clear timelines, ensuring no concern remained unaddressed.
MHADA’s regional boards in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Nashik have successfully conducted similar Janta Darbars, witnessing substantial public participation. Plans are underway to institutionalise these sessions regularly across all divisional boards,
