Mumbai is set to witness a spell of high tides between July 14 and July 18, with afternoon tides expected to exceed 4.5 metres, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) 2026 high tide calendar. Residents have been urged to remain cautious and avoid venturing near the seafront during these periods.
High tides to cross 4.5 metres
The city will experience a series of major high tides from July 14 to July 18, with tidal heights ranging between 4.66 metres and 4.85 metres. The season’s highest tide of 4.89 metres is expected on July 16.
No rain alert for Mumbai
At present, Regional Meteorological Centre has not issued any weather warning for Mumbai. However, light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms is likely over the next two days.
BMC urges public to follow safety advisories
The civic body has appealed to residents to avoid the seashore during high tide periods and to follow all safety advisories issued by the administration. Authorities have also urged the public to exercise caution, especially during spells of rough sea conditions.
