Mumbai is set to witness five straight days of high tides beginning Tuesday, June 24, with wave heights expected to cross 4.5 meters and peak at 4.75 meters on June 26. The BMC has issued a safety advisory, urging people to steer clear of coastal stretches like Marine Drive, Juhu Beach, and Worli Seaface during high tide hours, warning of potential flooding and waterlogging in vulnerable low-lying areas.
This spell is part of a broader monsoon trend, with 19 high tide events anticipated between June and September 2025, posing recurring risks to the city’s coastal zones.
BMC urges public to stay safe
Tides exceeding 4.5 meters are classified as hazardous, especially when paired with heavy rainfall, as they can intensify flooding in low-lying areas. A total of 19 high tide events are expected this monsoon, with the next major spells in July (24-27) and August (10-12).

In response, the BMC has deployed disaster response teams and will set up barricades and warning signs at high-risk coastal spots. including Juhu and Versova beaches. Fisherfolk, tourists, and residents near the shoreline are urged to stay alert and follow real-time updates from official BMC channels.
Meanwhile, Mumbai continues to receive heavy rainfall, leading to a steady rise in reservoir water levels across the city.
