If there’s one cuisine that EVERYONE collectively loves in Mumbai, it undoubtedly has to be Chinese. Well, you’re in luck because today, we’ve got you the deets of Mumbai’s iconic China Gate. Chances are that you‘ve already stumbled upon this one but if not, prepare to be utterly surprised!

As an Asian restaurant, this eatery offers top-notch culinary innovation and ‘grammable aesthetics. And TBH, we’re floored! From red-heavy decor to the delish dishes – you’ll surely spot inspiration drawn from Chinese culture everywhere! So get ready with your chopsticks, to know all about this Chinese eatery with 5 outlets across Mumbai.

Think Chinese Food, Think China Gate!

We stepped into China Gate in Bandra and at first glance, the glaring amounts of red, had our eyes in awe. From that moment we knew that red is truly China Gate’s colour! But why so, if you may ask? According to Chinese legends and beliefs, red symbolises fire and can drive away bad luck.

In a conversation with Knocksense, Manager Om said, “For the past 30 years, China Gate has been serving Mumbai with authentic Chinese fare. The well-curated menu takes you on an exotic culinary adventure with an array of signature seafood dishes.”

Moreover, if you are unsure about what to get, kick off your meal with China Gate’s Grilled Chicken Black Bean (₹540), an absolute winner at the very first bite. Further, Pomfret Soya Chilli Dry (₹895) infused with a variety of spices, ginger, garlic and a buttery gravy, is drool-worthy too. Our favourite, though, has to be King Prawns Choice of Sauce (₹795) available in almost 9 sauces. But no matter your choice, we’re sure you’ll return for more!

Sunday Brunch Buffet? Yes, please!

Also, China Gate offers a fantastic veg and non-veg Sunday brunch buffet for just ₹1050++, at it’s Andheri East and West outlets. And, the menu here is not a descriptive one. So you might want to ask the servers to give you an idea of the ingredients used to prepare the food, especially if you have food allergies.

Knock Knock

For a comfortable and intimate dining experience earmarked by excellent service, let China Gate in Bandra impress you with its culinary expertise. So, the next time you hear your tummy rumbling, you know where to head!

Apart from the one in Bandra, China Gate has outlets in Juhu, Mahakali, and Worli and the newest one is near City Mall, Andheri West. Follow its official Instagram handle for more updates.

When: Lunch 12:00 pm – 03:30 | Dinner 07:00 pm – 01:30 am

Where: 2nd Floor Tamang Niwas, 155, Waterfield Road, Bandra West, Mumbai

Order away, people!
