First 'Make in India' train set for Kanpur & Agra metro flagged off from Gujarat today!

Aligning with the UPMRC's plan to begin Kanpur Metro trials in November this year, Alstom delivered the first prototype train for the ambitious project today. This train set was built at Alstom's rolling stock manufacturing facility in Gujarat's Savli, under the ambit of initiatives like 'Make in India' and 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat'. As per reports, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Managing Director of UPMRC and the Managing Director of Alstom were a part of the unveiling event.

MMRDA assembles Mumbai monorail with spare parts from local vendors

Mumbai sets an example of sustainable development by commissioning a monorail rake, which has been built completely by sanctioning spare parts from local vendors in Mumbai, Pune and Chennai. An indigenously re-built monorail unit was flagged off on 16th December in Mumbai by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority. Assembling about 213 spare parts, this refurbishment project costs about ₹8 crores.

Indigenous Mumbai Metro lines of 2A and 7 slate test trials in January 2021

Establishment work of metro line 2A and 7 stands at 80% completion and in the coming months, all work related to train laying, signalling and civil construction will pave the way for scheduling the first trial-run of these lines from January 14, 2021. These routes of 2A and 7 will connect Dahisar to DN Nagar and Andheri East Respectively.
