The city of Indore will soon start to exercise its urban development plan, drafted by the designated state authorities, for comprehensive growth in the city. The phases of this plan will undertake several projects for the civic benefit, including widening of city roads, rearrangement of traffic signals and lights and installation of CCTV cameras in public places. As per reports, the plan will further be progressed by attention to water preservation models in the district as well as constructive action against mafia activity.
Indore- Clean, Green & Developed
In a meeting conducted on Thursday, designated official and senior authorities identified the potential of growth and development in Madhya Pradesh, especially in Indore. While this meeting, attended by the MLA, ADG, Divisional Commissioner, District Magistrate and other pivotal officers, discussed the scope and execution development programmes for the same, plans against mafia activities were also reviewed.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also pledged to make Indore one of the leading cities in the nation, in terms of both, cleanliness and development. The state and city will now follow a 5-year plan to achieve this goal, read reports. The Chief Minister has also directed to take up the task of water conservation in the city, by deepening local ponds and treating their water. Plans to develop Umrikheda sub-forest, with special attention to Ralamandal are also to be prepared, stated the CM.
Besides this, the concerned officials have taken concrete steps towards mafia activity and illegal encroachments in the city. To completely eliminate the traces of such activities from Indore, coordination between the police and administration has been prioritised. CCTV cameras will also be installed in the city to surveil and investigate criminal and/or nefarious acts. The Indore Development Authority has already started to raze illegal encroachments in the city and now, citizens, shopkeepers and other vigilantes will be encouraged to report about such settlements.
Fast-paced growth in Indore
An official who attended the meeting stated that Indore will be witnessing fast-paced development soon. A plan to renovate residential and commercial units in Nehru Nagar and other areas under the Madhya Pradesh Housing Board should be prepared.
These simultaneous upgrades will help the city to grow exponentially, in tandem with state development programmes. From civic development to beautification, Indore is gearing up for a major comprehensive 360-degree development plan, which will soon make it one of the pioneers of growth management in India.
