The Khurda Road railway station redevelopment project which was completed back in June this year, has now become an example of sustainable and modernistic development. The cherry on top is the economical cost of ₹4 crore.

The project will now be taken as a model revamp outline for the redevelopment of 15 stations in UP, including Lucknow, Kanpur and other districts.

Which stations will be revamped under the development project?

The Khurda Road Railway Station, which lies in the eastern division of Howrah-Chennai zone was revamped with the addition of new tracks, facade beautification and state-of-the-art amenities including lifts, escalators, modern lounges and dormitories, FOBs and more.

The Northern Railways will work on the modernisation of 15 stations including Pratapgarh, Rae Bareli, Kanpur Bridge, Manaknagar, Phaphamau, Malhaur, Shahganj, Sultanpur, Barabanki, Unnao, Jaunpur Junction, Jaunpur City, Prayagraj, Bhadohi and Utraitia.

Reportedly, the stations will be beautified along with the addition of advanced grade amenities including new FOBs, escalators, lifts, food courts, modern dormitories etc. for which the proposal has been sent to the Railway Board in New Delhi.
