Empathy at Every Station: Lucknow Police to establish special help desks for the elderly

Aditya Vikram

In an initiative to provide swift aid to the elderly, all 53 police stations in Lucknow district will soon feature a dedicated 'elder help desk.' Staffed by trained officers, this special desk will address various issues affecting senior citizens, such as elder abuse, scams, and financial fraud.

Lucknow Police's elder help desk aims to offer comprehensive support, from filing crime reports to connecting seniors with essential social services. Alongside the desk, a helpline (112) will be available for distressed senior citizens. This move by the police responds to the rising concern of elder mistreatment, particularly by their children.
