With the Union Budget announced for the financial year 2022-23, Indore is all set to become greener, cleaner and smarter. As per reports, the city administration has decided to install 76 e-charging systems and deploy more CNG buses to progress the vision. Along with that, the AICTSL has also made provisions to roll out about 1000 bicycles in Indore and help enhance the public transport system.

In a recent board review of the Atal Indore City Transport Services Limited (AICTSL), officials have initiated targeted efforts for smart mobility in the city. In this direction, the administration is set to procure 80 electric vehicles to beef up Indore’s electric public transport fleet and drive pollution-free commute services. About 50 of these will be provided to the Sarvate Bus Stand.

The electric buses will be used to run for the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) and will be soon linked through the upcoming 76 e-charging stations across the city. As per reports, only 37 of these systems will be operational in the first phase of the project.
