Joining the bandwagon of good news and top-notch developments happening in the country right now, is the upcoming launch of India’s third private train, this month. Indian Railways is finally all set to flag off the Indore-Varanasi Tejas Express and this train will be running three days a week so now we can safely say goodbye to our travelling hassles on this route.
That’s not all. In the near future, it’s being said that there’ll be trains like Tejas to ease out our transportation woes and to save us time.

Back in 2019, IRCTC launched its first Tejas Express which runs on the Lucknow-Delhi route, six days a week and now in 2020, IRCTC is all gearing up for a launch of the third private train which will be running from Indore to Varanasi.
This Indore-Varanasi Tejas Express will be the first Tejas Express from the lot of three, which will operate overnight and the Railway Board has confirmed that this service will commence, February onwards.This overnight train would have the same rakes as the ones of the Humsafar Express. In Budget 2020, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated, “More Tejas-type trains to connect iconic tourist destinations. High speed train between Mumbai-Ahmedabad would be actively pursued.”
The second Tejas train runs on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai route and it has been touted as the fastest on this route as it covers the sprawling distance in just six hours.
Knock Knock
Passengers can even avail a compensation of ₹100, if the Delhi-Lucknow Tejas Express delays for over an hour. The commuters of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Express will also get the same benefit, under this scheme of the IRCTC. For the first time too, IRCTC is also offering free insurance of ₹25 lakh to all the passengers traveling by Tejas Express.
With swanky amenities and unmatched speed, the Tejas Expresses have stirred our notions, which have led us to view trains journeys in a different light. Since the functioning of Tejas Expresses, travellers have heaved sighs of relief and with new oncoming ones, we can only hope for a shortened travel time and a much more relaxed journey.
