Indore has topped the Ayushman Bharat list by enrolling about 80% of its target population into the scheme. This is one of the biggest healthcare schemes sponsored by the Union of India, which aims to cover health benefits for about 50 crore citizens and nearly 10 crore underprivileged families, free of cost. While 2 crore individuals in MP have registered to avail its aid, the maximum share of beneficiaries hail from Indore, stated authorities.
Door to door initiative to boost registration numbers
According to the reports of Indore’s CMHO, the city is leading with the maximum number of Ayushman Bharat enrollments in the state, both in terms of percentage and numbers. Out of the 11 lakh targetted beneficiaries, the commercial capital has succeeded to engage about 80% or 8.85 lakh people for the programme. District authorities informed that Indore achieved the high enrolment rate by means of a mission mode drive launched in mid-December.
While the mission mode programme aimed to register all people enlisted under the Ayushman Bharat Yojna, the authorities have further decided to launch a door to door campaign to further boost the numbers. In a meeting conducted on Tuesday, it was revealed that most people were not turning up to get their health cards. However, with increased interaction via the new door to door initiative, people will now be encouraged to avail the benefits.
At present, Madhya Pradesh is leading all other Indian states in terms of enrolment numbers. The state Ayushman Bharat CEO said that MP has covered the registration of 40%-45% of targetted beneficiaries. It now aims to make 40,000-50,000 health benefit cards, every day.
