A lawyer, mother to two children and India’s first female truck driver, her life is an inspiration for all those who have subscribed to the stereotype that women are bad drivers! Choosing a life on the road
Though she was happy being a mother and a wife, when encouraged by her husband, she started studying law. However, tragedy struck with her husband’s untimely death- she was now to be the sole breadwinner of the family and support her two children. She quickly realised that venturing out as a junior lawyer wouldn’t be enough.
Yogita Raghuvanshi swam against the tides of societal expectations and started her journey as a truck driver around 2003. With her grit and constant efforts, her children are now in college getting a quality education. Recognition came her way when she was awarded Mahindra Transport Excellence Award in 2013 and later through appreciation from oil giants like Shell. Her journey bore fruits as today, she is the owner of a successful business- Rajhans Transport.
Knock Knock
The way we process grief differs from person to person. While many would’ve broken down beyond hopes of repair after losing the love of their lives, Yogita Raghuvanshi moved on to do what made her feel better and powerful, no matter how unconventional.
