Aiming for an early roll out of Indore Metro plans, the municipal corporation has initiated interventions for removing the road dividers and rotary pillars lying on its designated path. Previously, the high tension line between Bapat Chauraha and Vijay Nagar Chauraha was removed and now, the path is being cleared of other obstructions. Reportedly, over 15 thousand plants have to be removed and some changes will also be executed at Bapat Chauraha, Sayaji Chauraha and Vijay Nagar Chauraha.
Pillars to be established under the first phase of construction
While the plans have been prepared for long, the construction could not be started due to the presence of umpteen hurdles. As per reports, the stretch between Bapat and Vijay Nagar crossings encapsulates dividers, which are three-metre wide. Now, it has been reported that pillars will be set under the first phase, once the current activities are complete by the end of August. Further, it is expected that all plants along the aforesaid stretch will be removed by the end of monsoons.
Reportedly, a wide range of saplings were planted by Indore Development Authority as a part of extensive beautification drives. Now, pillars will be erected in the middle of MR-10 once these plants are removed. Notably, there are no instructions for removing the rotaries as of now but it is anticipated that the related measures will be executed soon.
Large number of small & big plants to be removed
As per a senior official, the plants between Vijay Nagar and Radisson Chauraha have been removed and the second stretch between Vijay Nagar and Bapat will witness a similar intervention. While the officials will try to relocate the plants, it would be difficult save smaller ones.
