The third wave of the pandemic seems to be coming to an end in the Indore district, with a steady decline in the number of infections being reported each day. As per the daily health bulletin reports, a total of 141 fresh COVID-19 infections were reported in the district on Tuesday. February 15 further marked the second consecutive day of zero hotspots in Indore. Cases in these sensitive regions witnessed a sustained dip, with infections below the 10-case mark.

In addition to that, 69 other cases were logged across 7 districts of the Indore division. 37 of these 69 cases were from Khargone, 11 each from Khandwa and Jhabua, 5 from Barwani, 4 from Dhar and 1 from Alirajpur. The Ujjain division, on the other hand, reported 78 cases (32 in Dewas, 11 in Ujjain district, 9 in Neemuch, 8 in Mandsaur and Ratlam, 6 in Agar and 4 in Shajapur). As per official reports, the daily cases in the third wave peaked on January 22, at 3,372 infections. Thus the recent decline has encouraged the authorities to lift all the COVID-19 restrictions in the state. People are now free to hold public gatherings without an upper limit on the number of attendees. All schools, colleges, hostels, and offices are also allowed to operate at full capacity.

Besides, religious, social, political, sports, and educational events are permitted, without any restrictions. The authorities have, however, urged the public to display COVID-19 appropriate behaviour since the risk of infection is not completely evaded.
