Indore is having its hard tryst with the winter season. The city was enveloped under a cold wave on Saturday as piercing winds arrived from the hilly terrains of the northern regions of the country. Registering abrupt drips in the temperatures below normal levels for the day and night, the mercury fell by six and three degrees respectively.
Weather conditions to be same till 1st February
While Thursday brought the coldest night of the season for Indore with temperature standing at 7.2 degrees celsius, the city-folks have had a tough time through the entire past week. If the predictions by the meteorological department are to be believed, Indore would be gripped by similar weather conditions till February 1.
As per reports, the aforesaid sharp fall in temperatures was witnessed on Friday. Standing at 8 degrees celsius, the mercury level was 3 degrees below normal during the night while it was almost 6 degrees below normal during the day(at 22.2). An official from the meteorological department informed that the city will experience cold conditions in the upcoming days owing to the freezing winds coming from north India.
Dripping temperatures due to the chilly north-westerly winds
The current weather conditions in the city have been propelled by north-westerly winds prevailing over the plains of north India and the surrounding regions of central India. Gauging from the current parameters, the meteorological department further stated the isolated corners of Madhya Pradesh would be covered under cold conditions in the coming days.
