In a bid to ease the vehicular traffic in and around Jaipur, the construction of the 45 km long nothern ring road will begin soon. The project will taken forward at an estimated budget of ₹2,887 crore. According to the latest reports, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) & the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) will jointly construct the much-awaited transport corridor between Bagrana (Agra road) to Achrol (Delhi road).
Ensuring economic & traffic resilience
Reportedly, out of the 360-metre long ring road stretch acquired by JDA, the NHAI is set to work on a 70-metre transport corridor, while JDA will construct a 135-metre development corridor on either side of the ring road, for commercial purposes. Aiming to ease the commute and decongest traffic, the six-lane access-controlled expressway will have a three-lane service road on both sides.
Following the footsteps of the very successful 47km southern corridor (Agra Road to Ajmer Road), once-completed the highly ambitious project will ensure smooth flow of vehicles and ensure a hassle-free commute. As per the 2025 master plan, the agencies have identified land in 26 villages of three tehsils (Amber, Jaipur and Jamwa-Ramgarh) for the proposed ring road.
As per the request of Rajasthan government, the project cost will be beared by both, JDA and NHAI. The Transport corridors can generate wider economic benefits and costs through their effects on a potentially diverse set of development outcomes, such as economic growth, poverty, jobs, equity, environmental quality, and economic resilience.
