The daily commuters in Jaipur who opt to travel using city buses are no strangers to the hassle of not having exact change while paying for their tickets. Acknowledging the need for an effective solution, the Jaipur City Transport Service Limited (JCTSL) will roll out specialized prepaid travel cards to provide convenience to the public.
The prepaid cards will be functional on all the city buses of Jaipur. Moreover, these will be rechargeable by the means of another soon-to-be-launched JCTSL app using the UPI services.
JCTSL to roll out limited cards during this month
Initially, JCTSL will roll out a limited number of prepaid cards along with the launch of its UPI-based recharging application during mid-December. These cards will be made available at the selected branches of Yes Bank for the public. Incidentally, the prepaid cards will be made available at all the JCTSL depots and headquarters across Jaipur, after the initial phase.
Furthermore, commuters including localites and tourists will be able to avail prepaid card services for travelling through JCTSL city buses.
How will the prepaid travel card work?
Passengers will be able to use their cards by swiping them at the Point of Sale (POS) machines available on the buses and the ticket fare will be deducted from the card balance. In return, the conductor will provide a ticket to the desired destination after validating the card payment.
The initiation of the prepaid travel card model for the city buses will provide a cashless, convenient and a hassle-free method for the daily commuters of Jaipur.
