Releasing a circular on Wednesday, Mumbai University announced dates for online exams for the terminating undergraduate Batch of 2021 in wake of the COVID spike in Mumbai. The order states that regular and backlog theory exams for all final year- last semester UG programmes will be conducted from May 6 to May 21. The varsity expects all affiliated colleges to complete the first and second-year examinations before that, i.e. from April 15 to May 5.

Releasing a much-awaited examination schedule, the MU has slated online assessments for all UG final year, last semester students, under any programme – Arts, Science and Commerce. Besides this, the timetable for final examinations for postgraduate (PG) and professional courses too would be released soon, the circular added.
MU affiliated colleges will follow the same paper format as that of the winter exams conducted in December 2020. However, this time around, students will no longer have the flexibility of choice in the question papers. Earlier, candidates were expected to attempt any 40 out of the given 50 multiple choice questions, in one hour. In this term, students will be expected to attempt all 50 questions, where each correct answer will fetch them 1 mark, reducing the weightage of the total marks to 50 instead of the previous 60. According to the schedule, the online question paper will be drafted by cluster colleges. While this has received flak from the college professors who said that University could have changed the format to bring credibility to the test, it surely has brought respite to the anxious students who were left hanging without any concrete information in the last official statement.
