Rise in the AQI level causes trouble in Lucknow

On Sunday, Lucknow's overall Air Quality Index level was found to be 260. The city has been experiencing smog and visibility issues since the day of Diwali. The AQI peaked on Thursday with 302 points.

Yesterday, the Talkatora Industrial Area experienced the worst air quality with 378 points. Anything over 300 points is considered to be 'very poor'. The Gomti Nagar Area was the second-worst hit with 270 points. One of the primary reasons behind this sharp downfall in Air Quality was the bursting of firecrackers as part of Diwali celebrations that continued throughout the night on Thursday.

Sale & use of green firecrackers allowed in Jaipur & other Raj districts

In a bid to promote an ecological festive season, the Rajasthan government has permitted the sale and use of only green firecrackers, in all regions execpt those falling under NCR. Additionaly, the ban will remain in force in cities with poor air quality.

'Ladis' banned in Lucknow; UP to comply with NGT orders on firecrackers this Diwali!

The Uttar Pradesh state cabinet has decided to comply with the orders of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) regarding firecrackers on Diwali. This resolution has been opted by the administration with respect to the continuously deteriorating air quality across the state. While many cities have imposed a complete ban on firecrackers, Lucknow has so far banned only certain categories of firecrackers.
